| 英文描述 | Neutered cats are most commonly affected with this disease. There is bilaterally symmetric alopecia beginning in the perineal region and spreading to the flanks, thighs, tail, and abdomen. The dorsum is spared the diffuse thinning of these areas. Pruritus and skin lesions occur only if secondary skin disease is present. Dx by signs, history, lab rule-outs, response to treatment. Treatment was described by Schmeitzel and Lothrop. This disease is very uncommon, and can be ruled out when hair regrows in a cat wearing an Elizabethan collar, as regrowth indicates that the cat has been grooming off the hairs (Miller Jr.). |
